Bayliss eyes up V8 Supercars career in Australia?Update: February 19, 2009, 13.10 PM ET
Superbike legend Troy Bayliss is eying up a participation in the domestic V8 Supercars championship as he settles into his retirement life back home in Australia.
"
Cars are something that I love and I've been watching the V8s for many years," Bayliss revealed to Australian daily newspaper The Courier Mail recently.
Bayliss is now living on the Gold Coast so the team he is expected to drive for could be the Triple 8 squad which has his same management.
The 39-year-old, who left World Superbike on a high with his third world title last year, said that duties for Ducati meant that he would be making several visits to Europe this year, but he may have a few wildcard entries in V8 events such as Bathurst before joining the championship full-time in 2010.
"
Bathurst would be good. I've done my time there on a bike. It would be my favourite place," he added.
